Where can i see the Sea Lions?

Hooker's sea lions are only found in New Zealand and we are lucky enough to have some right on our door step! They are one of the rarest species of sea lion in the world and arguably the most threatened because of their restricted breeding range.You can view these awesome creatures at Surat Bay only 10 minuets driver from The Split Level Accommodation in Owaka.

What is the best way to see The Catlins?

Some like to go it alone and find their own way around. If you would rather relax and take a tour  then local tour operators Catlins Adventures offer a range of day tours and multiple day tours to see the best of everything The Catlins has to offer. They also offer tours to see the Yellow Eyed Penguins, Kayaking Tours and a Glow Worm Tour. Packages are available including your accommodation and you can combine tours of interest to you to make the perfect Catlins experience.
